Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has sparked conversations online after making remarks about women’s appearance and warning that action could eventually be taken regarding what he described as the “nyashless women” issue.
Gen Muhoozi, who is known for mixing humour with serious commentary on social media, said that although many of his messages begin with jokes and laughter, people should pay attention because he often means what he says.
“You all know me by now. Things start here with jokes, and we have a good laugh. But I’m always serious about what I say,” Gen Muhoozi stated.
The military leader made the remarks while commenting on his previous discussions about women’s body features, saying that the matter should not simply be dismissed as a joke.
He suggested that there would come a time when action would be taken on the issue, although he did not clearly explain what form such action would take.
“This short nyashless women thing… the day will come when action is taken,” he said.

The statement quickly attracted attention from social media users, with many Ugandans sharing different opinions about his comments.
Some people interpreted the remarks as another example of Gen Muhoozi’s unusual style of communicating with the public, where humour is often mixed with discussions on national and social issues.
Others questioned the meaning behind the statement and debated whether issues concerning personal appearance should become a matter of public concern.
Gen Muhoozi has built a reputation for making bold and sometimes controversial statements on social media, where he frequently interacts with Ugandans and shares his views on various topics.
His online presence has often generated widespread reactions, with supporters praising his direct communication style while critics sometimes challenge his statements.
In his latest remarks, Gen Muhoozi also described Ugandans as “the true children of Almighty God” and said they are expected to represent perfection.
“Ugandans are the true children of Almighty God! They are supposed to be perfect!” he said.
The comment has added to ongoing discussions about culture, beauty standards, and the expectations placed on individuals in society.
Many social media users have continued debating whether his remarks were intended as humour, personal opinion, or a serious warning.

The statement comes at a time when public figures increasingly use online platforms to communicate directly with citizens and express personal views.
Gen Muhoozi’s supporters argue that his humorous approach allows him to connect with ordinary Ugandans while addressing issues he considers important.
However, some observers believe public leaders must be careful with their words because their statements can influence public discussions and perceptions.
Despite the debate surrounding his comments, Gen Muhoozi has continued maintaining his active presence on social media, where he regularly engages with followers.
His latest message has once again demonstrated how his unique communication style can quickly become a national talking point.
As Ugandans continue reacting to the remarks, discussions remain focused on the balance between humour, personal opinions, and the responsibilities that come with holding a senior public position.
