Kasambya County Member of Parliament Daudi Kabanda has claimed that presidential adviser Odrek Rwabwogo reported his social media posts to President Yoweri Museveni in an attempt to stop him from criticizing him publicly.
Kabanda, who is known for his outspoken political statements, said he received information that Rwabwogo approached the President with some of his tweets concerning him.
According to Kabanda, the intention was to have President Museveni intervene and prevent him from continuing to speak about issues involving Rwabwogo.
The legislator alleged that Rwabwogo wanted the President to publicly distance himself from him by describing him as a “crook” in order to damage his reputation.
“I have reliably been informed that Rwaboogo went to the President with a number of my tweets about him and asked him to restrain me from speaking about him or condemn me publicly by referring to me as a CROOK so that I can maybe lose credibility in society and in my Constituency,” Kabanda wrote.
Kabanda said he would not be intimidated by such attempts and insisted that he would continue speaking about matters he believes are affecting the country and the ruling party.

The MP has recently been involved in a public disagreement with Rwabwogo, who is also President Museveni’s son-in-law and chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development.
Kabanda has accused Rwabwogo of several issues, including alleged corruption and land-related controversies, claims that have not been proven publicly.
He has challenged those who criticize him to instead respond to the issues he raises rather than attempting to silence him.
The outspoken legislator has repeatedly stated that he is ready to face any consequences because of his decision to speak openly.
Kabanda has also defended his political contribution, saying that his loyalty and efforts within the NRM cannot be questioned.
He previously argued that he helped the party achieve strong support in Mubende despite operating without significant financial assistance.
The dispute between Kabanda and Rwabwogo has attracted attention because both figures are connected to the NRM and operate within influential political circles.

The disagreement has also reportedly attracted comments from Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is said to have cautioned Kabanda against targeting Rwabwogo.
Kabanda, however, maintains that his criticism is not personal but based on issues he believes need to be addressed.
He has continued calling for accountability among leaders and says public officials should be open to criticism.
Rwabwogo has not directly responded to Kabanda’s latest accusations but has continued making public statements on issues such as corruption, leadership reforms, and the future of the NRM.
The ongoing exchange has sparked debate among political observers about internal disagreements within the ruling party and the space for criticism among its members.
As the two figures continue their public disagreement, attention remains focused on whether the matter will be resolved privately or develop into a wider political confrontation.
