Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said he has forgiven State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere following a disagreement that attracted public attention.
The development follows an apology from Nameere over a controversial video, which she said had been edited and circulated to create misunderstanding between her and Gen. Muhoozi.
Accepting the apology, Gen. Muhoozi said he had decided to put the matter behind them.
“I have hereby forgiven my dear sister Hon. Justine Nameere. I do not hold grudges against people. I wish all well. The matter is settled,” he said.
Gen. Muhoozi also said officials and supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) had been instructed to stop attacking Nameere.
The disagreement followed the circulation of a video in which Nameere’s remarks were interpreted by some as criticism of Gen. Muhoozi. She later denied targeting him, saying the video had been manipulated.
With the latest statement, Gen. Muhoozi said the matter was settled and called for an end to further attacks against the minister.
