The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is offering a unique opportunity for research institutions and academic experts to collaborate in a study evaluating the effectiveness of Uganda’s public communication campaigns. UCC, which was established under the Uganda Communications Act of 2013, is responsible for regulating and promoting communication services in the country. With this new project, UCC is looking for a partner to conduct research that will provide crucial insights into how well its public campaigns have performed in reaching and influencing the public.
The study will focus on a range of key areas, such as the reach and impact of UCC’s public communication campaigns over the last five years. It will examine how effective the campaigns have been in raising awareness, influencing behavior, and engaging different groups of people across Uganda. The study will also evaluate the effectiveness of various communication channels used in these campaigns, including television, radio, social media, and community outreach. A particular emphasis will be placed on understanding how language, accessibility, and communication styles can enhance the impact of these campaigns.
Through this research, UCC hopes to gather important data that will guide future policy decisions, helping to shape more targeted and inclusive communication strategies. The findings of this study will inform the development of communication policies aimed at improving consumer protection, promoting safe communication service usage, and enhancing compliance within the communications sector.
UCC is inviting applications from academic institutions, research teams, faculties, and schools to serve as the collaborating partner for this study. The selected partner will be engaged for a period of up to five months and will be expected to conduct the research in line with UCC’s approved Terms of Reference. This is an excellent opportunity for institutions to contribute to the development of effective communication strategies that will benefit the people of Uganda for years to come.
Applicants are required to submit both a technical proposal and a financial proposal in strict accordance with the attached guidelines. The deadline for submission is 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026. All proposals should be emailed to research@ucc.co.ug and registry@ucc.co.ug.
This collaboration is a chance to play a key role in shaping Uganda’s communication landscape and ensuring that public communication campaigns are both effective and impactful. If you are part of an academic institution or research team, don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to make a real difference.
