Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Muhoozi Kainerugaba has declared that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was chosen by God to lead Uganda, insisting that no enemy can stop his father’s leadership.
Gen Muhoozi made the remarks through a message shared on social media, where he praised President Museveni’s leadership journey and attributed his rise to power to divine intervention rather than human effort.
According to Muhoozi, God selected Museveni from a humble background and elevated him to become the leader of Uganda.
He said his father’s leadership is part of a divine plan that cannot be frustrated by political opponents or critics.
The First Son described President Museveni’s rise from cattle herding to national leadership as evidence of God’s hand in his life.
He suggested that the President’s journey mirrors biblical stories where ordinary people were chosen for extraordinary responsibilities.

In his statement, Muhoozi quoted what he described as a message from the Lord, saying Museveni was taken from the pastures and from following cows to become a leader over the people of Uganda.
He further stated that God has remained with President Museveni throughout his leadership journey, protecting him and helping him overcome challenges that have emerged over the years.
The army commander also claimed that God has consistently defeated Museveni’s enemies, enabling him to remain strong despite political opposition and various threats throughout his decades-long rule.
According to Muhoozi, those who seek to fight against Museveni’s leadership often fail because they are confronting a mission that he believes was ordained by God.
His comments quickly attracted attention from supporters and critics alike, with many Ugandans sharing differing opinions about the remarks on social media platforms.
Supporters of President Museveni welcomed the statement, arguing that the President’s long political career and survival through numerous challenges demonstrate resilience and strong leadership.
Some supporters also pointed to the country’s relative stability and economic progress in certain sectors as evidence of Museveni’s contribution to Uganda’s development.
However, critics argued that leadership in a democratic country should ultimately be determined by citizens through elections rather than being presented as a divine appointment.
Others viewed Muhoozi’s comments as part of the continuing political debate surrounding Uganda’s future leadership and succession discussions.
President Museveni has remained one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, having been in power since 1986 after leading the National Resistance Army to victory in a guerrilla war.

Over the years, his administration has overseen major developments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and regional security, while also facing criticism from opposition groups over governance and political freedoms.
Museveni’s political influence continues to shape Uganda’s national conversation, making statements about his leadership highly significant within the country’s political landscape.
Gen Muhoozi has in recent years become an influential public figure in his own right, frequently commenting on national and international affairs through social media.
His statements often attract widespread discussion due to his position as Uganda’s top military officer and his close relationship with the President.
Political observers note that comments from senior government and military leaders frequently generate public debate, especially when they touch on issues of leadership, governance, and national direction.
As reactions continue to emerge, Muhoozi’s latest declaration has once again placed President Museveni’s legacy and leadership at the center of public discussion, highlighting the strong support he continues to enjoy among some sections of the population while also drawing scrutiny from others.
